Castles
Medieval castles were built in a period of 500 years. In the 14th century the castles reached its peak. The castles were trying to defend the people. The first castle ever made was made out of wood and mud. The wood burned very easily so they changed it to stone, it helped them protect the people better. The walls surrounded the people, some walls were even 20 feet thick. The peasants didn't really live in the castle, but when war came they hurried inside.
